How Friends and Flags Began
I launched Friends and Flags in 1999 while teaching in a rural high school in Israel. The objective of the project was to connect my students to a circle of classes around the world in order to broaden their horizons. I hoped to find 4 classes of partners, but was thrilled to coordinate 15 clusters of 90 classes in the first year. During 10 years thousands of student and teachers have participated in the Friends and Flags. A special thank you to all the partners who made Friends and Flags a wonderful success.
